Welcome to the Château du RonchayNestled in the heart of the Normandy countryside, the Château du Ronchay is a charming 19th-century estate that blends timeless elegance with cozy comfort. Surrounded by lush gardens and serene woodland, it is the perfect setting for a weekend of celebration, relaxation, and togetherness. We are so excited to share this beautiful place with you and can’t wait to celebrate together in style.

To provide a simple and relaxing travel experience, we have organized a shuttle service from Rouen to Luneray if you prefer not to rent a car. For Guests Arriving EarlyUpon arriving at the airport, take a bus service to Rouen. This can be done through flixbus.com or blablacar.co.uk. You can choose to stay in a hotel in Rouen, which would allow you to settle in and explore the historic city. Getting to the WeddingOn Friday, May 1st, we will arrange a private shuttle to take you from the pickup location in Rouen directly to the château in Luneray, departing at 12:00 PM (noon) sharp. The shuttle will depart from Hôtel de Québec, 24 Rue de Québec, 76000 Rouen, France. DepartureOn Sunday, May 3rd, after the farewell brunch, our shuttle will take you back to CDG in Paris for your onward journey.

Option 1: Shuttle Service from Rouen

For guests who prefer the flexibility of having their own vehicle, renting a car at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is a convenient option. This gives you the freedom to explore the beautiful Normandy region at your own pace. Most major car rental companies have desks in the arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2. We highly recommend booking your vehicle in advance for the best rates and availability. To rent a car, you will need:-A valid driver's license from your home country,-An International Driving Permit (IDP) is highly recommended to serve as an official translation of your license,-Your passport for identification,-A credit card in the driver's name for the rental and security deposit.

Option 2: Driving to the Château

For the adventurous guest who enjoys train travel, this option offers a scenic journey from the airport to the countryside. While it involves a few connections, it's a classic way to experience France. We recommend booking tickets in advance for the best prices. Your Journey in Three Steps: 1. Airport to Paris: From Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), take the Roissybus directly to the Opéra stop in central Paris. This is the most straightforward bus route for reaching the correct train station., 2. Train to Normandy: From Opéra, it is a short walk or taxi ride to Gare Saint-Lazare, the main train station for Normandy. From here, you will take a pre-booked train (SNCF) to a nearby city like Rouen or Dieppe., 3. Final Leg to Luneray: From the train station in Rouen or Dieppe, the easiest way to reach the final destination is via a pre-booked taxi or car service. This final part of the journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Option 3: Via Public Transportation

We have a full weekend of food and activities planned for you at the château during your stay. However, should you have extra time to explore before or after the main wedding festivities, the surrounding Normandy region offers a wealth of history and natural beauty.

Our château is just a short walk from the village of Luneray. This is the perfect destination for a quiet morning or afternoon stroll without needing a car. You can visit the historic church, stop by the local bakery (boulangerie) for a fresh pastry, or enjoy a coffee at a small cafe.

A Walk into Town

The following suggestions are best reached with a rental car.DieppeA short drive from Luneray, Dieppe is a historic port town with a long pebble beach, a 15th-century castle overlooking the sea, and a lively Saturday morning market that is one of the best in France. Veules-les-RosesOfficially one of France's "most beautiful villages," this charming town is known for having the country's shortest river. You can follow a scenic path along the river past old watermills and half-timbered houses down to the sea.

Visit the Alabaster Coast

RouenThe capital of Normandy is a must-see. Walk through its medieval quarter with cobblestone streets, see the magnificent cathedral, and visit the historic site where Joan of Arc was tried and executed.

Explore a Historic City

The Cider RouteNormandy is famous for its apple cider (cidre) and Calvados (apple brandy). Many local farms and distilleries offer tours and tastings. Look for signs for "Route du Cidre" to find a scenic drive through the countryside with stops at local producers.

Passport Requirements (Important!)Check Your Passport Expiration DatePlease double-check your passport right away! To enter France, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure date from the Schengen Area. (For example, if you are flying home on May 20th, your passport cannot expire before August 20th.) If you are close to that cut-off, we highly recommend renewing it now to avoid any issues at the airport.

Don’t forget your Type E (European) plug adapters! Also, check your hair straighteners and curlers: if they don’t say '110-240V' on them, you will need a voltage converter, not just a plug adapter, or they might spark and break.

Download Maps Offline: Data signals can be spotty in the rural Normandy countryside. We recommend downloading the area map on Google Maps before you leave the airport Wi-Fi so you can navigate offline.Call Your Bank: Even in 2025, some US banks will freeze your card if they see sudden charges in France. set a "Travel Notice" in your banking app before you fly.
